Estimates of the amount of IT expenditure that goes to Maintenance and Support vary, but there seems to be general agreement that it is a significant, perhaps has high as 60%. Planning, managing and benchmarking these activities is at least as important as for their more glamorous sibling, software development. The ISBSG has been building a repository of history data about Software Maintenance and Support activities. It also has a well established repository containing history data for 3,000 enhancement projects. In this webinar we look at the results of an analysis of the ISBSG data to discover where the money is spent; what consumes the most time and what resources are consumed by Maintenance, Support and Enhancement activities.
