Business leadership has long agonized over how to ensure that technology realizes the strategic and tactical goals of the organization. Even when projects appear to realize the initial objectives, the problem soon arises whether technology solutions can be responsive to major changes that plague all firms today. The Decision Model stands at the forefront of a new business management and IT paradigm. It is the first model for capturing important business logic with rigor similar to the Relational Data Model. As such, a business-oriented Decision Model can be translated into target technologies through design methodologies, appropriate for current and future technologies, and can provide management with the levers necessary to enforce changes in very short cycles.

The presentation is based on a recent book: The Decision Model: A Framework for Business Logic and Business-Driven SOA. Early reaction is that the book may become a classic in a new computing era that will have much traction in the near future.

The webinar begins with the link between business motivations and related business decisions and how those decisions are represented in a Decision Model. It presents a means for assessing the ROI of a Decision Model. The webinar concludes with a roadmap for how an organization can achieve higher levels of maturity in Business Decision Management as a new business and IT paradigm.
